How We Help
Where We Serve
At WHPC, we believe housing is a basic human right. Guided by our mission to provide and preserve affordable housing, we create homes where residents feel safe, stable, and supported. Through this ongoing commitment, we strive to create stronger communities and improve the quality of life for residents across Wisconsin. Currently, our portfolio of 151 properties can be found in 58 of Wisconsin’s 72 counties.
Who We Serve
More than half of our apartments at WHPC are designated for seniors, people living with disabilities, or both. Nearly three-quarters of our portfolio is supported with rental assistance from the HUD Section 8 and USDA Rural Development (RD) programs. We also offer unsubsidized Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) and Naturally Occurring Affordable Housing (NOAH) options to ensure housing is available to residents at all income levels.
Affordable Housing Facts & Myths
The critical need for affordable housing nationwide is often overshadowed by community misconceptions, despite its potential to bring significant benefits.
How We Serve
Stable, affordable housing is essential to the well-being of individuals, families, and communities. When people feel secure, they can focus on other critical aspects of life—such as health, education, employment, financial stability, community engagement, and building meaningful social connections. WHPC’s commitment to preserving affordable housing extends beyond buildings. Through a range of resident service programs, we educate, empower and enrich the lives of the people who call our communities home.
